Change Abstract Nouns to Active Verbs
Your writing will generally be clearer and more readable if you use direct,
active verbs rather than their nominalizations (verbs made into nouns).
Example
The biologist made a determination of the approximate
age. (nominalization)
The biologist determined the approximate age. (direct verb)
